Privacy
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to a server, never stored by PDFZova, and never shared with anyone. Closing the tab discards them. The only exception is if a future tool is explicitly labelled as server-processed — this tool is not one of those.
Frequently asked questions
Are bookmarks kept?
No. Browser merging keeps every page but cannot carry bookmarks (outlines) across documents. The merged file opens at page 1 like any normal PDF.
Does merging change my files?
No — your originals are untouched. Only the new merged file is created, on your device.
Can I merge files with different page sizes?
Yes. Each page keeps its original size in the merged file — pages are not resized to match each other.
Can I merge a password-protected PDF?
Not directly. Unlock it first with the Unlock PDF tool, then merge the unlocked copy.
Can I merge scanned PDFs?
Yes, as pages. Scanned pages stay images in the merged file — merging does not add selectable text to them.
About Merge PDF
Combining PDFs should not mean uploading private documents to a server. Merge PDF joins two or more PDFs into a single document, in the order you choose, entirely in your browser. Add the files, reorder them with the arrow buttons, and download one finished PDF.
- Input
- PDF files (.pdf) — 2 to 20 files, up to 50 MB each
- Output
- A single PDF (.pdf) with all pages in your chosen order
- File limit
- 50 MB per file. Processing runs entirely in your browser — files never leave your device.
When to merge PDFs
Merging fits documents that belong together: report chapters assembled into one report, an application form with its supporting documents, or scanned sections that need to be in order. The finished file follows the file order you set — drag files into place, or sort them — and each file's pages keep their original order and size.
Simple merge or With divider pages?
Simple merge joins your files back to back into one document. With divider pages inserts a blank page between each file, which is handy for separating chapters or sections so a reader can see where one document ends and the next begins. Pick the divider option when the result will be read or printed as a whole; pick Simple when the files are really one continuous document.
When merging will not help
Merging keeps every page, but it cannot carry bookmarks (outlines) across documents, so the merged file opens at page 1 like any normal PDF. Pages are copied, not re-rendered, which also means scanned pages stay images — merging does not add selectable text to them. And a password-protected file cannot be merged until it has been unlocked first.
