Privacy
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to a server, never stored by PDFZova, and never shared with anyone. Closing the tab discards them. The only exception is if a future tool is explicitly labelled as server-processed — this tool is not one of those.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my scanned PDF empty?
Scanned PDFs contain pictures of pages, not text. Reading them needs OCR (optical character recognition), which PDFZova does not do in the browser. The tool says so instead of handing you an empty file.
Does extraction keep formatting?
No — bold, fonts and layout are not preserved. You get the plain words, in reading order, with page markers.
About PDF to Text
Copying text page by page is slow; PDF to Text does the whole document at once. Selectable text is extracted in reading order into a plain .txt file, with a page marker between pages. Scanned, image-only PDFs have no text layer, so they produce little or no text — the tool reports that honestly instead of inventing text.
